Dr. Tami Rowen, an intern at SFGH Ob/Gyn receives the SFGH Julius R. Krevans Award for Clinical Excellence at a ceremony at SFGH on June 10th. The award is given yearly to one intern in each specialty at SFGH. The Krevans Award recognizes excellence in patient care, as exemplified by clinical competence, professional conduct, compassion for patients and outstanding interaction with all levels of staff, including peers.
Dr. Rowen graduated from the UCB/UCSF Joint Medical Program where, among other accomplishments, she developed curricula on Caring for Women with Disabilities and studied traditional birth in Bangladesh. During her internship year, Dr. Rowen has clearly illustrated her love of SFGH and its patients. She was noted on multiple occasions to have gone the extra mile for her patients-advocating for their care at every step. She takes ownership of her patients-providing them with comprehensive, compassionate care.
Chancellor of UCSF from 1982–1993, Dr. Julius R. Krevans was an outstanding clinician, teacher and researcher at SFGH who underscored the hospital's tradition of providing quality and compassionate care to patients.
