Johnson & Johnson honors and respects the
autonomy of local community groups and promotes leadership
within these communities. Their Company Credo states, "there
is a commitment to the communities in which we live and work
and to the world community as well."
The UCSF National Center of Excellence in Women's Health
believes that by forging new partnerships with the community
and engaging the community in the way we research and deliver
health care services, we are promoting an equal exchange of
information and expertise, in the hope of building mutual
education and trust.
With these shared values and commitment to the
community, Johnson & Johnson and the UCSF National Center
of Excellence in Women's Health have teamed up to create the
"Fostering Excellence in Women's Health through Academic-Community
In collaboration with the other designated National
Centers of Excellence in Women's Health, at leading academic
medical centers around the country, this program was designed
to explore the challenges, opportunities, and power of strong
academic-community partnerships. Enhancing academic-community
partnerships, we can begin to create a new model of women's
health that includes women and will improve the health of
women across their lifespan.
